Entrepreneurs, Government, and Angel Investors Shorten Time to Market With $2+ Billion Start-Up Funds at FOSE 2004

WASHINGTON, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Calling all technology innovators to
FOSE 2004 to learn how to tap your share of the Small Business
Administration's $2 Billion fund.
The Emerging Components Conference will explore in depth topics such as
small business innovation, seed investment, and implications for
transformative e-government. The conference, hosted by FOSE 2004,
government's largest IT show, will be held on March 23-25 at the Washington DC
Convention Center. Several hundred participants from high growth companies,
e-government and Federal enterprise architecture teams from government
agencies, open standards groups such as OASIS and the World-Wide Web
Consortium (W3C), and seed and angel investors will spend three days talking
about the Small Business Administration's $2 Billion SBIR grants program and
other agency initiatives that support small business and innovation.
"The future of e-government is being developed using private-public
partnership," said Bill Howell, Executive Vice President of PostNewsweek Tech
Media and General Manager of FOSE. "The Emerging Component Conference will
enhance collaboration between government, industry, academia, and the capital
investment community and forward the goal of citizen-centric government."
Brand Niemann, Enterprise Architecture Team, Environmental Protection
Agency, and member of the Emerging Technology Subcommittee of the CIO Council
commented, "The conference will have a significant impact on the communities
of practice important to e-government. We want an e-government program
manager to walk away from the conference and say, here's a component from a
small business that I can use in my e-government initiative. We want a
venture capitalist to say, here's a promising company that looks attractive
for further investment. We want an entrepreneur to say, I've gotten guidance
on how to enter the market from a small company I met at the Conference. It's
a win-win for everyone."
The Emerging Components Conference will take place during FOSE 2004, the
nation's largest information technology conference and exhibition that
attracts 20,000 public sector IT professionals and 500 exhibiting companies.
FOSE 2004 runs from March 23-25 at the Washington DC Convention Center. There
is no charge to register for the Emerging Component Conference. For complete
