WASHINGTON, March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- At 10:15 this morning, new US
Secretary of Agriculture Mike Johanns will join FDA Commissioner-Designate Les
Crawford as keynote speakers at The 7th Annual Food Safety Summit and Expo,
the nation's largest and most important expo and conference on food safety,
quality assurance, and food security. Together, these two officials regulate
every food product sold in the United States. The Summit focuses on protecting
the nation's food supply from bacterial contamination like e-coli, as well as
issues of food security and counter-terrorism. Over 1,800 food manufacturers,
processors, chain restaurants and others have been at the Summit that is
taking place at the Washington D.C. Convention Center.
