ANDERSON, Ind., March 18 /PRNewswire/ -- David Abel has been appointed
Senior Vice President of Operations and Supply Chain for Remy Inc. He will
serve as a member of the Remy Inc. Leadership Board and brings a wealth of
automotive industry experience and operational leadership. Abel will focus on
performance improvement strategies for supply channels and has functional
oversight for PCL, Purchasing, Operations and Continuous Improvement.

Prior to joining Remy Abel held senior executive positions with Eaton
Hydraulics, which is a leading supplier for major OEM accounts such as Deere,
Case New Holland, General Motors, Volvo and Ford Motor Company. He held
progressive VP assignments with direct oversight of US and European
operations. His contributions included ISO 9000/2000/TS 16949 and Toyota
Productions System (TPS) based Lean manufacturing and the formulation of a
global manufacturing strategy and participation on the corporate merger and
acquisitions teams.
Prior to his employment with Eaton, he served in various executive
positions with the Delco Remy division of General Motors including Plant
Manager, Alternators / Starting Motors and Manager of Strategic Planning.
Abel holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the General
Motors Institute in Flint, Michigan. Additionally, he has his Master of
Science in Industrial Management from Krannert School of Management - Purdue
University in Lafayette, Indiana. He is also a certified Jonah, Theory of
Constraints and is trained in various Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
Practices.
