Boston's First Target
BOSTON, March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Edens & Avant, one of the nation's
fastest growing retail real estate enterprises, announces that Target has
opened at South Bay Center, the Company's high profile, 451,000 square foot
shopping center in Boston. According to Joe Pierik, Northeast Region VP for
Edens & Avant, the 117,000 square-foot Target store replaces a former Kmart.
"Target is a fantastic addition to South Bay Center," said Pierik. "There
was huge demand to bring Target into Boston-proper, and the store's opening
last week proved that shoppers are clearly loyal to the Target shopping
experience."
Pierik added the new Target is part of Edens & Avant's overall expansion
and renovation plan for South Bay Center. The Company has owned the major
urban shopping destination since 1998 and recently announced plans for a $30
million expansion of the center.
South Bay Center is located between Massachusetts Avenue, Allstate Road
and Southampton Street at the confluence of the City of Boston's South Boston,
Dorchester, and Roxbury neighborhoods. The new full service Target boasts a
pharmacy and a Starbucks Cafe. Store hours are hours are Monday-Saturday 8am
to 10pm, and Sunday 8am to 9pm.
