DoD Compliant RFID - epcSolutions, Inc. and Tmax Soft, Inc. Partner to Enable Solution

Partnership Delivers Secure 'In a Box Solution' to meet DoD mandate

    GREAT FALLS, Va., March 19 /PRNewswire/ -- FOSE 2004 March 23-25 -
epcSolutions, Inc., the industry's leading EPC/RFID middleware provider, and
Tmax Soft, Inc., offering the most powerful line of web middleware products in
the industry, today announced a partnership to bring to market an integrated
solution for Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) that meets and exceeds the
DoD RFID mandate. Together, epcSolutions and Tmax Soft have delivered the
first, complete solution that enables enterprises to reduce the time, cost and
effort of their RFID projects and to meet the DoD requirements.
"RFID technology will revolutionize the way products are manufactured,
tracked, bought and sold. Enterprise level integration will be a critical
component of RFID projects," said Kevin J. Kail, CEO, epcSolutions, Inc. "We
have created the only solution that automatically integrates existing DoD
supply chain documents -- like the 511R and Advance Shipping Notice -- with
the EPC/RFID data that, by DoD mandate, companies will begin tagging Pallets
and Cases."
EPC/RFID eliminates the current bar code systems and automatically
provides basic, yet critical, pieces of information about products, such as
the item number and the item location. The fully integrated EPC/RFID solution
allows an enterprise to track all assets and inventory with RFID tags, while
automating data capture to eliminate manual count, data entry, and the line-
of-sight requirements associated with bar code scanning. Linking the
EPC/RFID-enabled time and location data points with an enterprise's back-end
systems creates tremendous new business benefits, including better asset
management, more accurate and efficient supply chain execution and speedy
payment transactions.
epcSolutions provides the integration needed to increase the benefits of
RFID on an enterprise-wide scale. With the epcSolutions integration platform
-- built with Tmax Soft technology -- companies can connect with their core
back-end systems to realize the full business benefits and promise of RFID
technology.
"epcSolutions is working with Fortune 1000 companies and the DoD to
implement RFID. Our new partnership adds to the value that we bring to our
own customer base," said Kang Man Lee, president of Tmax Soft, Inc. "Our
customers will now have the ability to incorporate their RFID initiatives on
top of an integration infrastructure that takes full advantage of the benefits
of RFID through our total solution."
Current epcSolutions offerings will play an essential role in corporate
EPC/RFID strategies. Companies must have access to accurate data about items,
cases and pallets from their back-office applications before RFID technology
can deliver on its value. Therefore, building an integration infrastructure
will help companies improve their return on investments from RFID projects by
ensuring that product data is synchronized and managed throughout the
automated supply chain.
