Wavetech Appoints New Vice President of Product Commercialization

    TUCSON, Ariz., March 20 /PRNewswire/ -- Wavetech International, Inc.
(OTC Bulletin Board: ITEL) announced today that Kelvin C. Wilbore has been
named as Vice President of Wavetech, in-charge of product commercialization.
    Immediately prior to joining Wavetech, Wilbore served as a Senior Manager
at Arthur Andersen working primarily in the telecom sector.  Wilbore has
20 years experience in business requirements specification, application
development, project management and management consulting.
    With 13 years in the financial sector, he has also served as Vice
President, Business Solutions at Amalgamated Banks of South Africa (ABSA) --
the largest banking group in Africa.  Wilbore joined Wavetech International,
Inc. as a Project Manager in January 2000 and has since been primarily
involved in the product commercialization.
    Wilbore holds a B.S. in Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics from
Rhodes University and an MBA from the University of Cape Town.
    Wavetech also announces that the commercialization process of its
Internet-based communications products has begun with a current beta test
underway.
    Kelvin Wilbore assesses the current commercialization process as follows:
