0.6mm DFN-8 package enables the SP6265 to satisfy the need for height
critical applications
MILPITAS, Calif., March 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- (OTC: SXCP.PK) --
Sipex Corporation today expanded its line of low-dropout (LDO) regulators
with the introduction of its first dual channel LDO, the SP6265. The
feature set of this new 150mA dual channel CMOS LDO has been designed to
meet the needs of space critical portable consumer applications.
Sipex's thinnest package offering
The SP6265 continues to reduce package height by offering a 0.6mm
ultra- low profile package enabling designers to meet critical height
requirements for today's trend towards ultra-slim consumer devices. The
lower profile allows for board space reduction, package efficiency in the
z-dimension, and overall system weight reduction.
Simplifying portable designs
This new device is ideal for supplying mobile processors with core and
I/O voltages. The SP6265 features 2-channel independent shutdown control
for maximum versatility and complex power management schemes while
consuming 0.3uA of shutdown current prolonging critical battery life. The
integrated dual channel design minimizes board area requirements and
overall component count utilized by two separate devices. In addition, the
SP6265 is available in fixed output options from 1.8V to 3.3V eliminating
the need for an external resistor networks. All operations are protected
against fault conditions by current limiting and over temperature
protection schemes.
Pricing and availability
The SP6265 is offered in the DFN-8, as well as, the TSOT-23-6 package.
Both packages are specified over -40 degrees C to +125 degrees C junction
temperature range and are lead-free and RoHS compliant. The device is
priced at $0.70 and $0.75 each in quantities of 1,000 units for TSOT and
DFN respectively.
