MAUMEE, Ohio, March 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Andersons, Inc.
(Nasdaq: ANDE) has nominated Ross W. Manire to the company's Board of
Directors. Manire's nomination will be voted upon during the company's
annual meeting in May.
If elected, Manire will fulfill the seat of John F. Barrett. Mr.
Barrett, Chairman, President and CEO of Western & Southern Financial Group,
has served on The Andersons Board of Directors since 1992 and has chosen
not to stand for re-election.
"John Barrett has been a valuable member of our Board for nearly 16
years," reflects Chairman Dick Anderson. "John was instrumental in
preparing the company to go public in 1996 and has always provided our
Board with a great perspective and insight. He will truly be missed.

Manire has agreed to stand for election in May. We believe Ross will be a

Mr. Manire currently serves as the Chairman and CEO of ExteNet Systems,
Inc., Chicago, a wireless telecommunications company he founded in 2003. He
also has held senior management positions at Flextronics International, San
Jose; Chatham Technologies, Inc., Dallas; 3Com Corporation, San Jose,
Calif., Ridge Capital Corporation, Barrington, Ill., and as a Partner of
Ernst & Young, Chicago.
A graduate of Davidson College, Davidson, North Carolina, Mr. Manire
earned a bachelor's degree in economics with honors. He earned his MBA from
the University of Chicago.
