BEDFORD, Mass., March 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aware, Inc. (Nasdaq:
AWRE), a leading supplier of broadband technology, today announced that
Spirent Communications is using Aware's advanced DSL test and diagnostics
for physical layer testing in its SmartSight 3577C IPMax, the industry's
first triple-play services test unit. IPMax is used to perform triple-play
service emulation, voice and video quality analysis, and advanced physical
layer and ADSL2+/VDSL2 copper testing as part of Spirent's SmartSight
comprehensive service assurance solution.
"IPMax enables service providers to accurately and cost-effectively
measure the quality of the end customer's triple-play experience,"
commented William Burns, Spirent Communications' president of broadband
service assurance. "The IPMax with Aware's technology takes the guess work
out of provisioning and service assurance, and as validation, TELUS
recently announced a large-scale deployment of Spirent's SmartSight
solution across its Canadian network."
"As carriers upgrade copper networks to handle higher speeds and
additional services offerings including IPTV, it is often a challenge to
efficiently test and monitor the network," said Edmund Reiter, president of
Aware, Inc. "An ideal solution for IPTV assurance and line testing is
Spirent's SmartSight because it offers a scalable solution to meet service
providers' needs for both pre- and post-installation customer support. We
are very pleased to be part of the SmartSight solution and are looking
forward to working with Spirent in supporting the new generation of
services being delivered over DSL, including IPTV."
