Evaluation Version of Development Environment for PSP(TM) Now Available;
Metrowerks to Unveil Development Suite for PSP(TM) During Closed Door Session
at GDC 2004
SAN JOSE, Calif., March 22 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Game Developers
Conference 2004 -- Metrowerks now supports the PSP(TM) platform with an
evaluation version of its CodeWarrior(TM) Development Studio for PSP(TM). The
evaluation version is available now, allowing game title creators to become
familiar with the development environment for Sony Computer Entertainment
Inc.'s (SCEI's) new platform.
Developers have been encouraged to create new titles for PSP(TM) rather
than port existing software from PlayStation(R)2 environments. This policy has
heightened demand for world-class tools created specifically for the new
platform. With the evaluation version release, Metrowerks has responded to
this demand by offering developers a comprehensive, award-winning development
environment for creating new game titles.
CodeWarrior Development Studio for PSP(TM) offers a comprehensive,
consistent environment for fast and easy application creation. It includes a
native compiler for the rapid production of compact, high-quality object code,
and a debugger that offers developers an intuitive graphic interface for
flexible and accurate debugging capabilities.
With CodeWarrior Development Studio for PSP(TM), developers have the
option to develop within the native CodeWarrior development environment, or
integrate to the Visual Studio.NET environment.
Metrowerks will host a private, invitation-only session during GDC 2004 on
Thursday, March 25, 2004 to demonstrate the evaluation version.
