Chubb Executive Risk Announces Three New Senior Officer Appointments

SIMSBURY, Conn., March 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Chubb Executive Risk, based in
Simsbury, Connecticut, and a subsidiary of the Chubb Corporation headquartered
in Warren, New Jersey, is pleased to announce three new senior vice president
appointments.
Ralph E. Jones III, President and Chief Executive Officer, Chubb Executive
Risk, reported that Mario J. Chiappetti, Robert M. Lynyak, and Randall G.
Oates each have been appointed Senior Vice President.
Mr. Jones said that newly appointed officer Mario Chiappetti is Senior
Vice President, Broker Management. Chiappetti had previously been employed by
the Chubb Corporation from 1978 until 1986, serving at various times in
Chubb's New Jersey headquarters; in New York City; in Brussels, Belgium; and
in London. His accomplishments include establishing a crime insurance
department in Chubb's New York branch office and expanding the company's crime
insurance business in Europe. In his new position, he will also serve as a
member of the company's Executive Committee, which oversees all of the firm's
business activities and reports to Mr. Jones. Prior to joining Chubb
Executive Risk this year, he had worked for Aon Financial Services Group in
New York City. He is a 1978 graduate of Williams College (Massachusetts) with
a degree in history, and he presently lives in Avon, Connecticut.
Newly appointed Senior Vice President Robert M. Lynyak is director of
Chubb Executive Risk's Wholesale Operation. "Bob has over thirty-five years of
underwriting experience and has enjoyed a distinguished career with Chubb,"
Mr. Jones said. Lynyak joined Chubb in 1965 as a commercial fidelity
underwriter in New York City, and he has served the company in its New Jersey
headquarters, Los Angeles, and London. As head of Chubb's International
Division from 1984 to 1991, he shepherded
Chubb's rapid growth in Europe, Asia, and Latin America. In 1973 he was
named National Manager of the Commercial Fidelity Division, which, after
introducing an executive protection insurance package in 1980, was renamed the
Executive Protection Division and which Chubb merged with Executive Risk Inc.
of Simsbury, Connecticut, in 1999. Lynyak will also serve as a member of the
company's Executive Committee. A Notre Dame graduate with a degree in
history, Lynyak retired briefly from Chubb in 1997, and after a stint with
Intercargo Insurance, which was purchased by Bermuda-based XL Insurance Group
in 1999, he joined Chubb Executive Risk this year. He recently purchased a
residence in Avon, Connecticut.
New Senior Vice President Randall G. Oates is Manager of Marketing and has
responsibility for marketing Chubb Executive Risk's products, managing its
Marketing/Communications team, and building business relationships with
Chubb's underwriting branches worldwide. Prior to assuming this position, and
before Chubb's merger with Executive Risk, he was Vice President of Financial
Services, overseeing the underwriting for Executive Risk's products for
commercial entities with public equity and/or public debt, private companies,
financial institutions and community banks, and companies involved with
initial public offerings. He joined Executive Risk in 1996 after serving with
Aetna Health Plans for 12 years. He is a graduate of Grove City College
(Pennsylvania) with a degree in accounting, and he makes his home in Berlin,
Connecticut.
