Fujitsu and Twinhead Demonstrate Mobile Hard Disk Drive Durability and Shock Tolerance at FOSE 2004

    SAN JOSE, Calif., March 23 /PRNewswire/ --

    WHAT:
Fujitsu Computer Products of America, Inc. (FCPA), one of the world's
leading suppliers of hard disk drives and computer peripherals, and Twinhead
Corporation, the notebook PC specialists, today announced that Twinhead will
use Fujitsu MHT, 4200RPM, 2.5" ATA hard disk drives (HDDs) in a demonstration
designed to illustrate the ultra-rugged constitution and durability of
Twinhead's notebook PCs. As part of the demonstration, Twinhead
representatives will drop and throw the reinforced notebooks to exemplify
their inventive notebook design targeted for rough terrain environments in
vertical market applications like public safety, military and industrial
markets. Twinhead's display screen, hard disk drive and keyboard are all
specially designed to operate under the most adverse conditions.
Fujitsu's MHT HDDs are designed to deliver high shock tolerance
(900G, 1 ms, non-operating; 225G, 2 ms operating) for lasting performance.
Additionally, intelligent power management technology reduces power
consumption to as little as 0.1 Watt in sleep mode-resulting in a dramatic
improvement in the time that can be spent away from a power outlet. Twinhead
offers everything from an entry-level ruggedized notebook for the first time
buyer, to muscular, full-featured notebooks designed for the mobile
professional.
FOSE, which is held each spring in Washington, D.C., is the largest and
