ATLANTA, March 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Newell Rubbermaid Inc.
(NYSE: NWL) today announced the appointment of Steven J. Strobel, age 48, to
the company's board of directors. Mr. Strobel will also serve on the Audit
Committee. "Steve is a great addition to our board, bringing proven financial
acumen and leadership in both consumer and industrial markets," said Newell
Rubbermaid's Chairman of the Board William D. Marohn.
Strobel currently serves as senior vice president and corporate controller
of Motorola, where his responsibilities include corporate accounting and
financial reporting, corporate financial planning and analysis, financial
support to functions, global financial shared services and indirect
procurement. Prior to joining Motorola, he was with Owens Corning from 1996
to 2003, culminating in his role as vice president finance and treasurer.
From 1986 to 1996, Strobel was with Kraft Foods, where he held financial
positions of increasing responsibility in product divisions and corporate
marketing leading up to vice president and controller, Kraft USA Operations
and Chief Financial Officer, Kraft Foods Canada. Strobel began his career as
a certified public accountant and has an undergraduate degree from the
University of Illinois and a MBA from the University of Chicago.
