Stanley C. Gault to Retire from Avon's Board After 22 Years of Service
NEW YORK, March 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Avon Products, Inc. (NYSE:
AVP) today announced that its Board of Directors has nominated Gary M.
Rodkin to join its Board. Mr. Rodkin will stand for election at the
company's Annual Meeting of Shareholders on May 3, 2007. He replaces
Stanley C. Gault, who will be retiring from Avon's Board on May 3 after 22
years of service. Avon's Board continues to number ten Directors.
Mr. Rodkin, age 54, is President and Chief Executive Officer of ConAgra
Foods, Inc. (NYSE: CAG), a position he assumed in October 2005. ConAgra
Foods is one of North America's leading food companies with almost $12
billion in annual revenue and a brand portfolio that includes Healthy
Choice, Orville Redenbacher's and Chef Boyardee.
Before that, Mr. Rodkin was Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of
PepsiCo Beverages and Foods North America from February 2003 to June 2005,
where he led a $10 billion organization which included leading brands such
as Pepsi, Gatorade, Quaker Foods, and Tropicana. Mr. Rodkin joined PepsiCo
in 1998 after it acquired Tropicana, where Mr. Rodkin had served as
President since 1995. From 1979 to 1995, Mr. Rodkin held marketing and
general management positions of increasing responsibility at General Mills,
with his last three years at the company as President, Yoplait-Colombo.

During his tenure on Avon's Board, Mr. Gault served as Chairman in a
non- executive capacity from November 1999 to September 2001. He also was
Chairman of the Board of The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company from June 1991
to June 1996, and was Chief Executive Officer of that company from June
1991 to December 1995. Before that, he was Chairman of the Board and Chief
Executive Officer of Rubbermaid Inc. from May 1980 to May 1991. He is
Chairman Emeritus of the Board of the College of Wooster and a director of
the National Association of Manufacturers.
