WAYNE, N.J., March 24 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Valley National Bank, the
wholly-owned subsidiary of Valley National Bancorp (NYSE: VLY) announced that
John H. Noonan has been appointed First Senior Vice President, Risk
Management.
Mr. Noonan joined Valley in 2003 and reports to Gerald H. Lipkin,
Chairman, President and CEO of Valley National Bank. In his position he is
responsible for advising senior management and the Board of Directors on Risk
Management policies, practices and metrics. In addition, he will develop
effective responses regarding identified regulatory issues. In his new
responsibilities he will also be assisting the Chief Risk Officer.
Mr. Noonan is a graduate of Providence College where he earned his
Bachelors degree in Economics. In his 35-year banking career, he has held the
positions of National Bank Examiner, Director and Assistant Deputy Comptroller
at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency ("OCC") in New Jersey and at
the Office of the OCC's Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
