'Developing Enterprise Java Applications with J2EE and UML,' Published by
Addison-Wesley, Helps Developers Understand and Apply UML and J2EE
Technologies
SAN FRANCISCO, March 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- At the 2002 JavaOne
Conference, Rational Software (Nasdaq: RATL) today announced the release of
"Developing Enterprise Java Applications with J2EE and UML," written by Khawar
Ahmed, senior technical marketing manager of Rational Software, and his
colleague, Cary Umrysh.
"Developing Enterprise Java Applications with J2EE and UML" is the
industry's first book to bring together software development sub-disciplines
from a Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) perspective, including architecture,
analysis and design techniques, development process, Unified Modeling Language
(UML) and visual modeling.
Published by Addison-Wesley, the book provides a hands-on approach to
leveraging J2EE and UML technologies to build better software by showing users
concrete methods for completing a successful development project using both
development cornerstones. Readers will also find a full J2EE application
project case study running throughout the book. The case study uses the
Rational Unified Process(R) and the UML to show real-world application of the
principles being discussed and to ensure that the information presented is
practical and relevant.
"Khawar and Cary have a deep understanding of J2EE and the UML, and a
strong sense of the best practices that lead to the effective use of both,"
said Grady Booch, chief scientist, Rational Software. "Their experience in
building production systems comes through in their writing, and especially in
their comprehensive case study."
"Successful software creation demands the understanding and application of
not just the underlying J2EE technology but also the numerous sub-disciplines
that are involved," said Khawar Ahmed. "With this book, Cary and I wanted to
provide readers with a holistic approach to building robust, scalable, complex
applications by overcoming the challenges of using the UML and J2EE together."
