New Tool Automatically Moves Software Assets into Rational ClearCase
Software Configuration Management Solution
SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., March 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- At the 2002
JavaOne Conference, Rational Software (Nasdaq: RATL) today announced a new
automated solution that enables development teams in IT organizations to
rapidly migrate from IBM VisualAge for Java to IBM WebSphere Studio
Application Developer by moving software assets from the VisualAge for
Java/Envy repository to Rational(R) ClearCase(R).
By providing seamless migration support, this new tool assists project
leaders who want to take advantage of the new developer productivity tools and
team collaboration capabilities that support IBM WebSphere Advanced Version
4.0. IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer is IBM's J2EE integrated
development environment (IDE) and includes Rational(R) ClearCase(R) LT, a
version of Rational's market-leading software configuration management (SCM)
solution.
Rational collaborated with Instantiations, Inc. to develop the new tool,
CodePro(TM) Migrator for Rational(R) ClearCase(R). CodePro Migrator for
Rational ClearCase supports full migration from IBM VisualAge for Java/Envy to
both Rational ClearCase LT, a comprehensive version control solution for
small, co-located teams, and to Rational ClearCase. Rational ClearCase
provides robust and scalable SCM capabilities that enable larger or
distributed development teams to efficiently manage change and complexity,
accelerating development and testing efforts.
CodePro Migrator for Rational ClearCase offers customers the option of a
complete or partial migration of all current and historical projects.
Rational and Instantiations will also provide migration services that utilize
CodePro Migrator for Rational ClearCase to accelerate customers' transition to
IBM WebSphere Studio Application Developer.
