ActiveMARK Suite Offers Single Solution for Secure
Worldwide Digital Distribution
SAN JOSE, Calif., Game Developers Conference, March 25 /PRNewswire/ --
Trymedia Systems today made public agreements to distribute the
ActiveMARK-secured game catalog through Yahoo! Australia & NZ, KPN, Eircom and
Scandinavian Games Ltd. In addition, Trymedia will offer technology
enhancements aimed at the company's international game and software developer,
publisher and distribution affiliate customers.
"While our research and development facilities have always been based in
Europe, Trymedia is now unveiling a full international network of customers
and distribution partners -- not only in the EU, but Asia as well," said Gabe
Zichermann, Trymedia's VP of Strategy and Communications. "In addition, our
new International Services allow control of global distribution from a single
point."
Yahoo! Australia & NZ is making the ActiveMARK catalog of core and casual
games, including all titles for which Trymedia holds the international
distribution rights, available to consumers in New Zealand and Australia
through the Yahoo! games portal at http://au.games.yahoo.com/. Dutch
telecommunications leader KPN (http://www.kpn.nl) has signed a similar agreement,
making games available to 2 million of its ISP customers.
Ireland's leading telecommunications company, Eircom (http://www.eircom.net), has
also joined the Trymedia Distribution Network, in order to make downloadable
games available to its 550,000 ISP customers. Scandinavian Games (SG)
(http://www.games.is) has signed an agreement to be the exclusive distributor of
downloadable ActiveMARK games and software in Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway
and Iceland. In addition, SG will represent Trymedia to potential new
distribution affiliates in Europe.
ActiveMARK International Services now offer a single technology solution
for worldwide digital distribution through dynamic currency, taxation, payment
and language management from a single point of control. The customer
experience is defined by the users' IP address and computer language settings.
For example, a French national who purchases a downloadable computer game
while visiting a UK site would experience marketing interfaces in French,
pricing in Euros and VAT for France. If that person makes a copy of the game
and e-mails it to his friend in Australia, his friend will see English
language interfaces and pricing in Australian Dollars. Additionally
publishers and distributors have the ability to control details and implement
business rules such as blocking a geographic area or creating
region-appropriate pricing. ActiveMARK International Services currently
support French, Spanish, Italian, German, Dutch and Japanese, in addition to
English. Game purchases can be made in the following currencies: U.S.
Dollars, Canadian Dollars, British Pounds, Euros, Australian Dollars, New
Zealand Dollars and Japanese Yen.
