NEW YORK, March 25 /PRNewswire/ -- BBC AMERICA's weekly news program
Newsnight has exclusive footage of the Iraqi defector code-named
"Curveball," who is currently in hiding in Germany. Airing this Friday,
March 28, it's the first footage of him since the start of the war in Iraq.
It was his fabrications about WMDs that were a key justification for the
U.S. entering into the war. In the same edition, Jeremy Paxman will
interview Lawrence Wilkerson, Chief of Staff to former Secretary of State
Colin Powell, about how the CIA could have been so wrong. Newsnight airs on
BBC AMERICA, Friday nights at 10:00 p.m. ET/ 7:00 p.m. PT.
The program will also feature an engrossing film from China, revealing
a country haunted by fears of a financial bubble and environmental
disaster, struggling to come to terms with the political injustices of half
a century ago.
Newsnight comes from the same team that produces Britain's long-running
nightly program of the same name. The U.S. facing, weekly version showcases
the best of its award-winning blend of features, investigations, interviews
and discussions. Newsnight is anchored by some of the most respected names
in British journalism including Jeremy Paxman, Kirsty Wark, Gavin Esler and
Emily Maitlis.
