Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond Announces Council Appointments

    RICHMOND, Va., March 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Federal Reserve Bank of
Richmond announces the recent appointment of the following four members to
its Small Business and Agriculture Advisory Council:
    Ronnie L. Bryant -- President and CEO, Charlotte Regional Partnership,
    Charlotte, N.C.

    Martha Anne Clark -- Owner, Clark's Elioak Farm, Ellicott City, Md.

    F. Guy Darby, Jr. -- Owner, F. Guy Darby and Son Farm, Chester, S.C.

    William W. Ditman -- Chairman Emeritus, Willow Construction, LLC, Easton,
    Md.

    The following six members continue to serve on the Council:

    S. M. Bowling -- President, Dougherty Company, Inc., Charleston, W.Va.
    Bowling has served on the Council since 2002.

    James B. Gates, Jr. -- Senior Partner, The Ridge Animal Hospital,
    Farmville, Va. Gates has served on the Council since 2002.

    Barbara B. Lang -- President & CEO, DC Chamber of Commerce, Washington,
    D.C. Lang has served on the Council since 2005.

    David Leonard -- President, Leonard Companies, Ltd., Lebanon, Va. Leonard
    has served on the Council since 2002.

    Jane Tabb -- Secretary, Lyle C. Tabb & Sons, Inc., Kearneysville, W.Va.
    Tabb has served on the Council since 2004.

    R. Gerald Warren -- President, Warren Farming Co., Inc., Warren Swine
    Farms, Newton Grove, N.C. Warren has served on the Council since 2004.
    The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond established its Small Business and
Agriculture Advisory Council in 1985 for the purpose of improving
communication with the small business and agriculture sectors within the
Fifth Federal Reserve District. The 12-member Council has two
representatives each from the District of Columbia, Maryland, North
Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia and West Virginia. The Richmond Fed
president appoints Council members for three-year terms with eligibility
for a second three-year term. The Council meets at least twice yearly to
counsel the president and other senior officers regarding the impact of
monetary, banking and fiscal policies on small businesses, farmers, inner
city economies and economic opportunities in rural areas.
    The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond is one of 12 District Reserve
Banks that together with the Board of Governors in Washington, D.C., make
up the Federal Reserve System. The Richmond Fed serves the Fifth Federal
Reserve District, which encompasses the District of Columbia, Maryland,
North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, and most of West Virginia.
