ATLANTA, March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Bull Run Corporation (Nasdaq: BULL)
announced that iHigh.com, Inc., has recently added two additional state high
school associations to its growing list of Internet network affiliations.
Bull Run has a 29% ownership interest in iHigh.com, Inc. through Bull Run's
wholly owned subsidiary, Host Communications, Inc. The Arizona
Interscholastic Association and the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic
Association became the 14th and 15th state associations to enter into
exclusive arrangements with iHigh.com to develop an Internet web site for each
association that will provide high school news, sports statistics, schedules
and student feature stories. Under these arrangements, high schools within
each state can work with iHigh.com to design and maintain their school web
page, which will be linked to other high schools across the country.
iHigh.com has similar arrangements with state high school associations in
Arkansas, California, Colorado, Illinois, Maine, Nevada, New Mexico, Rhode
Island, Tennessee, Utah, Washington, Wisconsin and Wyoming. iHigh.com is the
only web site exclusively approved by the National Federation of State High
School Associations, which holds an equity position in iHigh.com.
The iHigh.com network provides the nation's high school students a school-
approved Internet connection through which they can learn about each other,
their schools and voice their opinions. The agreements also allow schools to
advertise local businesses on their page and use those advertising dollars for
school programs. Each high school has the ability to produce their web site
using iHigh.com's SchoolToolz(C) system. The service is free to high schools
and allows them to augment their current web sites with sophisticated and
easy-to-use publishing tools through which all stories, schedules and
statistics tie into a network of sites across the country. Students create
and maintain their sites under the direction of a teacher or coach. There are
currently over 1400 high schools intending to joining the iHigh.com network,
with over 600 having active sites or sites under construction.
iHigh.com was formed in July 1999 by Host Communications Inc., Bull Run's
wholly owned subsidiary based in Lexington, Kentucky. Host, the exclusive
marketer for the NCAA(R) is a sports, events and lifestyle marketing company,
also having significant publishing, broadcast, Internet and association
management operating divisions.
W. James Host, President and CEO of Host Communications, Inc., commented,
"iHigh.com provides students, faculty, alumni and the general public an
incredible tool for obtaining information in connection with high school
activities, high school sports and current issues faced by high school
students. In addition, these sites provide a forum for networking high school
students, faculty and administration throughout the country. We are very
excited about its potential."
Robert S. Prather, Jr., President and CEO of Bull Run added, "iHigh.com
has made incredible strides since its inception only eight months ago. We
believe in their vision, their approach and their capabilities."
