CLEVELAND, March 27 /PRNewswire/ -- Hawk Corporation (Amex: HWK) announced
today the creation of the new position of Vice President of Manufacturing
Innovation.

Ronald E. Weinberg, the Chairman of Hawk Corporation, explained, "We have
designed this new position to further Hawk's commitment to manufacturing
excellence, expressed as 'Competitive Advantage Manufacturing'. We intend to
take our manufacturing capabilities to yet a higher level where it represents
a competitive advantage in serving our customers. We intend for there to be
no one better than Hawk in terms of on-time delivery, quality and service."
The position will initially be filled, on an acting basis, by Christopher
DiSantis who is currently President of Hawk Precision Components Group
("HPCG"). He will continue in that role as well. In the near term, Mr.
DiSantis' focus will be completion of the operational ramp-up of the Company's
new manufacturing plant in Tulsa. The plant, which commenced operation in
2005, is targeted to reach production and efficiency goals in 2006.
Mr. DiSantis joined Hawk in 2000 as Vice President-Corporate Development
and in subsequent years was assigned the additional responsibility of
overseeing the Hawk Motor's and Hawk Racing Groups. Mr. DiSantis was also
instrumental in launching and implementing the Company's Six Sigma initiative
in 2001. In 2004, he was promoted to President of HPCG.
