BILLERICA, Mass., March 27 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- GSI Group Inc.,
(Nasdaq: GSIG), a supplier of precision technology and semiconductor
systems, today announced that a new customer, Inotera, has ordered over $6
million of GSI's new model M555 green laser based wafer repair systems.
Inotera, headquartered in Taiwan, is a leading manufacturer of DRAM
devices used in applications for desktop, notebook PCs, and servers. An
Inotera spokesperson commented: "This is a formative step in a longer term
relationship between Inotera and GSI. We believe GSI's wafer repair systems
provide excellent cost of ownership for our current production needs and
will enable us to realize our goals for wafer repair processes for the next
generation of semiconductor devices."

Semiconductor Systems Division, said: "Inotera's purchase was driven by
both capacity expansion and a need to prepare for further shrinks in their
