Next Steps in WiMAX Development to be the Focus of Standards Panel
Presentation on April 6
SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 29 /PRNewswire/ -- Fujitsu Microelectronics
America, Inc. (FMA) will feature its new product and technologies including
its 8-bit and 32-bit microcontrollers, FlexRay(TM) ASSPs, 1394 evaluation
boards, biometric sensor ICs and graphics display controllers at the annual
Embedded Systems Conference in San Jose April 3-7.
Fujitsu will also present an update on its leading-edge WiMAX(TM)
technology, focused on the next steps in the development, certification, and
implementation of WiMAX base-station and subscriber-station systems. Reza
Golshan, director of System ASIC Development at FMA, will speak on the future
of WiMAX at the Wi-Fi and WiMAX Standards Updates Panel session on Thursday,
April 6, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m.
At booth 1618, Fujitsu will introduce the latest in its F2MC family of
low-power, high-speed MCUs for the consumer electronics and appliance markets.
The MCUs include the 8-bit MB95F146 for power supply and remote-control A/V
device management, and the MB95F156H for portable devices and household
equipment such as air conditioners. Fujitsu will also demonstrate the latest
FR series 32-bit RISC MCUs, including the MB91F479 for household appliances
that require energy efficiency and low-noise operation. In addition, Fujitsu
is announcing that the popular uC/OS-II real-time operating system from
Micrium has been ported to the Fujitsu MB9140x family of 32-bit network
security ICs.
New MCUs, GDCs, FlexRay Development Kit for the Automotive Industry
The company will showcase new products developed for the automotive
market, including the following:
-- The newly announced two-dimensional graphics display controller, the
MB86276, targeted to meet the needs of North American automotive
suppliers, with OS support from industry leaders;
-- Fujitsu's innovative FlexRay ASSP board, designed to assist
companies who are beginning product development using the FlexRay
communications protocol;
-- A new development kit built for customers designing in-vehicle
entertainment systems based on the industry's first IDB-1394b IC
single-chip solution, which Fujitsu introduced in late 2005.
Two of Fujitsu's fingerprint sensor ICs will be demonstrated at the
conference: the MBF200 USB single- touch sensor for physical access
applications, and the MBF310 Sweep Sensor, which delivers very high resolution
for computer and peripheral applications. Fujitsu's easily integrated
biometric sensor ICs feature ultra-low-power operation and advanced algorithms
that support product development.
