WIC-Detroit Accepting Vanguard and Diamond Award Nominations

    DETROIT, March 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Women In Communications (WIC) of Detroit
is accepting nominations for its special annual awards recognizing individuals
and organizations actively supporting others.
    The Vanguard Award recognizes an individual or organization that has
enriched the general quality of life through a communication medium.  Last
year's winner was Visteon Corporation in recognition of its "Ethics Quest"
company-wide training and awareness program.  Other past winners include
award-winning freelance writer and The Detroit News "Successful Woman"
Columnist Maureen McDonald.
    The Diamond Award honors an individual or organization that has improved
the conditions for women in the workplace.  Past award winners include
Lorraine Schultz for founding the National Women's Automotive Association and
Ford Motor Co. Women's Marketing Committee for its efforts to include a female
voice in all marketing, sales and advertising efforts.
    Vanguard and Diamond Award nominations must be postmarked by April 18,

during the WIC 65th Anniversary Matrix Awards Banquet on Monday, May 10, 2004,

keynote speaker.
