Transportation Legislation Tackles Traffic Congestion in Los Angeles

Controller Connell and Senator Polanco to Announce Bill Giving Tax Breaks
To Employers and Employees Who Use Alternative Work Schedules

State Controller Kathleen Connell and Senator Richard Polanco
(D-Los Angeles), will announce the introduction of legislation designed to
give tax credits to qualified employers and employees in Los Angeles, Ventura
and Orange counties who use alternative work schedules to combat traffic
gridlock. The bill, SB 2021, would give a $500 tax credit to each qualified
employer and employee who participates in a pilot program that focuses on
reducing traffic during the worst hours of congestion.
The Controller and the Senator will discuss the bill's intent to alleviate
traffic congestion on the most heavily traveled roads, improve worker
productivity, and decrease air pollution.
