CHARLTON, Mass., April 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- FiberCore, Inc.
(Nasdaq: FBCE), a leading manufacturer and global supplier of optical fiber
and preform for the telecommunication and data communications markets, today
announced that George F. Mori was named to the newly created position of Chief
Operating Officer, effective April 1. He will be based in the Company's Jena,
Germany facility.
Mr. Mori, age 52, was most recently with Barlo Group of Ireland as a
divisional board director responsible for their plastics polymerization and
extrusion operations, quality and technical functions throughout Europe.
Previously he was with Honeywell Corporation, a $24 billion diversified
technology and manufacturing leader. Based in Rudolstadt, Germany, his
positions included Managing Director of Honeywell Polymers GmbH and
Chemieprodukte GmbH, as well as being their Director of Operations and a
member of the German Board of Directors of Honeywell Deutschland AG. From
1995 to 1998, Mr. Mori was with Avery Dennison Corporation as General Manager,
European Films Center, Germany. Prior to that, Mr. Mori was with Jackstadt
GmbH and with 3M in the US, Canada and Germany in a variety of engineering and
management positions.
Mr. Mori holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from
the University of Missouri. He is a member of the German Society of
Professional Engineers and is a past national Board Director of the American
Chamber of Commerce in Germany as well as being a member of their Thuringer
Regional Committee.
