Sidney Summers Welch Joins Powell Goldstein's National Health Care Practice

    ATLANTA, April 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Powell Goldstein LLP announced today that
Sidney Summers Welch is joining the Firm's health care practice as a partner
in the Atlanta office. Ms. Welch specializes in representing physicians,
medical staffs, and physician practices in regulatory, business and
administrative matters.
    Previously, Ms. Welch was a partner with Morris, Manning & Martin, LLP.
    "Sidney is an experienced health care lawyer who will strengthen our
expertise in serving physician practices in Georgia," said Randy Hughes,
leader of Powell Goldstein's Atlanta health care practice. Ms. Welch holds a
Master's of Public Health from the George Washington University School of
Medicine and Health Sciences and completed an extensive internship with the
University of Alabama-Birmingham Medical Center and the American Medical
Association.

    Ms. Welch is actively involved in community health care initiatives,

working with the Atlanta Women's Foundation's Promoting Women's Health
initiative, the Atlanta Women's Medical Alliance and local, state and national
medical societies.
    Ms. Welch earned her Juris Doctor from the Cumberland School of Law at
Samford University in 1995. She was the associate editor of the American
Journal of Trial Advocacy while in law school and a member of the national
moot court team and a Cordell Hull Teaching Fellow.
