WASHINGTON, April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- FOSE 2003, the largest and longest-
running technology tradeshow for government professionals, has released a
best-in-show list for use in navigating the exhibits, events and activities at
this year's show, April 8-10, 2003. FOSE will be the first event at the new
Washington, DC Convention Center.
"Top to bottom, FOSE 2003 is the strongest show we've put together to
date," said Bill Howell, Executive Vice President for PostNewsweek Tech Media
and General Manager of FOSE. "Interest in new technology by the government is
at an all-time high, and industry has responded by bringing and showcasing the
world's top technologies and solutions. FOSE's tradition of delivering world-
renowned keynote speakers, a stellar Federal Executive Leadership Councils
program and a top notch GCN Management Conference only enhances the serious
business environment surrounding this year's show."
Each year, FOSE exhibitors showcase leading technologies and products for
government agencies to transform the way they do business and provide
services. This year, FOSE will again provide a showcase for government's
largest and most established market leaders for technology, services and
solutions such as Adobe, Apple, CDWG, Dell, GTSI, Micron PC, Microsoft, Micro
Warehouse, Oracle, and Research in Motion.
Additionally, over 450 vendors will exhibit a broad range of technologies
and services. Security products such as the iPix 360VS Video Surveillance
System for homeland security, situational awareness and the electronic
battlefield; network management technologies, such as BelArc's Intranet-based
PC management system currently used by the National Park Service to manage and
update their desktops, servers and laptops from one Intranet server and SQL
database; communications systems, such as Transclick Inc.'s secure, real time
IM and wireless phone voice translation system; and disaster recovery
services, such as Network Services Mobile Emergency Data Center will be on
display on the show floor.
E-Town, presented by Accenture, will demonstrate government's leading
citizen-centric services currently available. E-Town is a walk-through replica
of a town that highlights the best-practice solutions employed by all levels
of government. Similarly, the Homeland Security Center, presented by Lockheed
Martin, will showcase the best-practice solutions used for Homeland Security
at our nations borders, waterways, and cities. Both E-Town and the Homeland
Security Center are coupled with theater presentations about the latest
strides local, state, federal and international governments have taken in
citizen-centric and homeland security solutions.
FOSE's firm commitment to the leadership and ideas behind technology and
government is present throughout the 3-day conference. Keynote speakers
include industry executives Stephen J. Rohleder, Group Chief Executive,
Accenture; Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO, Research In Motion; and Bruce
Chizen, CEO, Adobe Systems. Government keynote speakers include Steve Cooper,
CIO, Department of Homeland Security; Anthony A. Williams, Mayor, District of
Columbia and a panel discussion between North American CIOs Michelle D'Auray,
CIO, Canada; Abraham Sotelo, CIO, Mexico and Mark Forman, CIO, OMB. FOSE also
hosts the Federal Leadership Councils' annual briefings on Wednesday, April 9.
This year, the Federal Executive Leadership Councils will also play host to
international CIOs as they network and compare e-government best practices
from around the world.
GCN will present an exclusive management training conference, "Strategies
for Transformation: Achieving Breakthrough Performance" on Tuesday and
Wednesday, April 8-9. GCN's management conference offers the opportunity to
meet and network with government leaders as they share lessons from challenges
met and successes achieved.
The live radio stage, broadcasting from booth #605 on FOSE's exhibit
floor, will host a two-hour special production of WAMU's The Kojo Nnamdi Show
with the Computer Guys from noon to 2:00 PM on Tuesday, April 8.
FederalNewsRadio.com will broadcast its new program Off The Shelf from 11:00AM
to 12:00PM and Your Turn w/ Mike Causey at 2:00PM to 3:00PM on Wednesday,
April 9.
Among other live demonstrations, Palm will present a Segway test drive
course. This test course is actually a 1200 square foot track where attendees
will be able to test drive Palm products as well as Segway's mysteriously
powered human transporters.
FOSE will run from April 8-10, 2003 and will be the first event at the new
Washington DC Convention Center. Each year, FOSE attracts 18,000+ government
professionals to view leading-edge solutions from 400+ industry leaders in a
