Ladish Marks Forging Milestone

CUDAHY, Wis., April 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The Cudahy,
Wisconsin-based forging division of Ladish Co., Inc. (Nasdaq: LDSH;
http://www.ladishco.com) has reached a milestone in the manufacture of
high-technology, powder-metallurgy turbine engine components. In 1983, Ladish
designed and built a 10,000-ton isothermal press -- the world's largest -- to
forge jet engine turbine disks for military fighters such as the F-14 Tomcat,
which continues to serve the U.S. Navy. Twenty years later, this unit remains
the largest and most advanced forging resource of its type for the production
of the highly engineered jet engine materials used in military powerplants.
The powder-metal disks forged on this press enable higher operating
temperatures in the hot sections of jet engines, which improves performance as
well as fuel efficiency. Upgraded and modernized in 2002, this unit now
provides disks for both military and commercial jet engine applications.

"Today customers such as General Electric, Pratt & Whitney, and
Rolls-Royce rely on Ladish for critical powder metal disk forging," says Kerry
L. Woody, the company's President and CEO. "This equipment is a mainstay in
providing engine parts to active bomber and fighter programs such as the F-15
Eagle, the F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the F/A-18 Hornet, as well as the F-117A
Stealth Fighter and the B-2 Stealth Bomber. Our history of process
improvements in support of current and future needs has become a Ladish
hallmark -- and a commitment that drives us forward."

Ladish Co., Inc. is a leading producer of highly engineered, technically
advanced components for the jet engine, aerospace and general industrial
markets. Ladish is headquartered in Cudahy, Wisconsin with operations in
Wisconsin, Oregon and Connecticut. Ladish common stock trades on Nasdaq under
the symbol LDSH.
