Leading Source Code Analysis Firm Offers New Ready for Rational Solution
Focused on Embedded, Aerospace and Defense Markets
EMBEDDED SYSTEMS CONFERENCE SILICON VALLEY, SAN JOSE, Calif., April 3
/PRNewswire/ -- Coverity, Inc., makers of one of the world's most advanced and
scalable source code analysis solutions, today announced that they will offer
a certified extension for the newest addition to the Rational software line.
IBM's new Rational Systems Developer product allows developers to track and
enforce industry-specific regulatory requirements during the software
development process. Coverity's products are now a part of the "Ready for
Rational" program and can be used with IBM Rational software to identify
defects and security vulnerabilities early in the development process.
IBM Rational software is the premier platform for teams developing
software for business applications, and this latest edition allows engineers
to integrate compliance mandates into the development process automatically.
This is particularly important to developers producing for the aerospace and
defense markets because of the need to adhere to requirements such as the
Department of Defense Architecture Framework. IBM recently announced that
Rational products will be supported by solutions from a group of eight
partners, including Coverity, which will optimize its code-checking software
for use in the Rational platform.
"We're very happy to be broadening our relationship with IBM through this
validation. Source code analysis is key in ensuring a sound development
process," said David Park, co-founder of Coverity. "When it comes to software
development, IBM and Coverity share a common goal: to give developers the
tools they need to produce reliable, secure software on a tight schedule."
Working with IBM, Coverity continues to grow its presence in the aerospace
and defense industries. Several leading European and American aerospace firms
have implemented Coverity's technology as an integral part of their
development process. Coverity solutions are already deployed by aerospace
groups such as NASA and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory and embedded
systems providers such as Wind River and Analog Devices.
