Achillion Pharmaceuticals Files Registration Statement for Proposed Initial Public Offering
    NEW HAVEN, Conn., April 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Achillion Pharmaceuticals, Inc.,
announced today that it has filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with
the Securities and Exchange Commission relating to the proposed initial public
offering of shares of its common stock.  All shares of the common stock to be
sold in the offering will be sold by Achillion.
    Cowen & Co., LLC will be acting as the sole book-running manager, CIBC
World Markets Corp. will act as co-lead manager and JMP Securities LLC will be
co-manager.  The number of shares to be offered and the price range for the
offering have not yet been determined.  This offering will be made only by
means of a prospectus.  Copies of the preliminary prospectus for the offering
may be obtained, when available, from Cowen & Co., LLC, Prospectus Department

    A registration statement relating to these securities has been filed with
the Securities and Exchange Commission but has not yet become effective.
