Several Rational Experts to Lead Sessions at Conference
LEXINGTON, Mass., April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- Rational Software
(Nasdaq: RATL), the e-development company, today announced that three Rational
experts will present at the Software Development Conference & Expo, April 8-
12, 2001 in San Jose.
Grady Booch, well known throughout the industry for his work on software
architecture, modeling and software engineering processes, will present a
keynote titled, "Software Development of the Web, for the Web and by the Web."
Booch's presentation will look at a day in the life of a developer working as
a member of a virtual project team and explore what can be done to achieve a
"frictionless surface" for development. Booch will be taking the stage at
noon on Tuesday, April 10.
In addition to Booch's presentation, Brian Bryson, a Rational evangelist,
will address core challenges facing software quality in the near future in his
session titled " Testing to Ensure Quality by Design." His presentation
identifies 21 research problems for software testing grouped into five major
areas; unified science of software testing, reuse of test patterns, practical
process, meaningful metrics and design for testability. Bryson will be
presenting at the Birds of a Feather session on Wednesday, April 11 at 4:15
pm.
Dave Locke, director of Marketing for Requirements Management for Rational
will discuss Requirements Management as an essential tool in the development
of applications. He will take a closer look at the necessity of monitoring
requirements throughout the cycle and the various techniques employed to track
these requirements. Locke is an industry expert on the discipline of
requirements management. He works with software development teams on how to
implement requirements-based testing and analysis and how to achieve project
success through effective requirements management. His session titled
"Requirements Management: The Foundation For Successful Software Development"
will be held on April 11, at 2:30 pm
