Electronic Dog Tags, Cyber Security, Telemedicine and Over 500 Exhibits Draw Military Crowd to FOSE 2005

FOSE 2005 Opens Tomorrow, April 5 and Runs through April 7

WASHINGTON, April 4 /PRNewswire/ -- The United States military relies
increasingly on technology, whether to track targets of opportunity, provide
real time diagnoses for field personnel by medical specialists in the rear, or
to deliver email from loved ones back home. FOSE 2005 provides a platform for
military technologists to strut tech tools helping fight the global war on
terrorism and keep our military safe on the field of battle. FOSE, the
government's annual technology conference and exhibition, will attract 20,000
federal high tech buyers along with 5,000 industry professionals to explore
technology solutions from 530 companies on April 5-7 at the Washington D.C.
Convention Center.
"We have spent nearly thirty years working with the government on its most
important imperatives," said Lorenz Hassenstein, vice president of
PostNewsweek Tech Media. "The military is a cornerstone of our programming
and exhibit area at FOSE 2005. The DoD Center is dedicated to showcase ways
the military uses technology. We also have major speeches and a full day of
programming related to the role of technology in saving American lives in
Iraq, developed by The Fisher House and 630 WMAL, Washington's premier news
talk station."
"We at 630 WMAL first heard about the work of the Fisher House Foundation
at FOSE last year, and we decided to support the Foundation, which supplies
affordable accommodations for families visiting combat casualties and veterans
in military hospitals. Our listeners donated over $2 million dollars to the
Foundation, and we knew we wanted to be back again at FOSE, talking about the
troops, the serviceman and woman who support them with technology, and about
the work of the Fisher House," said Chris Berry, President/General Manager,
630 WMAL.
630 WMAL will host a series of interviews of renowned military and
industry speakers who will discuss, "Saving American Lives: Information
Technology and the Military." The program will be held on Wednesday, April 6
in the FOSE Radio Booth #2654.

      to 11:30 a.m. at FOSE.
