Born in Los Angeles, Mantzke moved to New York looking for her "big break"
just after high school graduation. After a rough start, the singer-songwriter
was selected for the role of "Mary" in Jesus Christ Superstar. Soon after,
she hit Broadway to star in the lead role in Smokey Joe's Cafe. Other stage
credits include the "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," "Fame" and "Aida."
A multi-talented musician who plays guitar, keyboards and piano, Mantzke
soon decided to pursue a solo music career. She gained a following shortly
after singing "Only Believe" on a national telethon. Later, she signed with
EMI Europe and released her commercial debut single "I'm Not A Boy," which
enjoyed a spot in the Top 20 in Germany, France and Italy.
Her newest album, "The First," features songs about hope, love and
empowerment that emphasize Mantzke's powerful vocals, soulful lyrics and
catchy melodies. Her single "Stop Asking" was voted second best rock song by
Billboard magazine's World Song Contest.
