SR110 Appliance Provides Integrated Endpoint and Application Security to
Protect Network Assets
WASHINGTON, FOSE, April 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Corrent(R) Corporation
announced today the availability of the SR110 Web Security Gateway appliance
-- the first purpose-built appliance featuring Check Point's Connectra(TM)
software. The first in Corrent's new family of SSL VPN appliances, the SR110
protects networks from security threats by providing integrated endpoint and
application security for remote corporate users, partners, suppliers and
consultants.
Corrent's SR110 Web Security Gateway appliance combines both connectivity
and security into a single, purpose-built appliance. Easy to deploy and to
manage, the SR110 provides secure, anywhere access to the corporate network
for medium-sized organization with up to 250 concurrent users.
Corrent's SR110 appliance is an attractive alternative to IPSEC VPN
solutions -- which require specialized hardware or software on the client PC
and can be expensive and labor-intensive to implement. With the Corrent
appliance, organizations can quickly deploy SSL VPNs safely and securely to a
diverse group of users while simplifying access, reducing costs, and
minimizing the demands on IT resources.
"A security solution is only successful if it protects the business
interests of the organization while protecting its network and data," said
John Davis, Chief Technology Officer for Corrent Corporation. "The SR110
meets this criteria, effectively balancing the need for approved access to
network information with the necessity of safeguarding network assets."
The SR110 protects internal resources from attacks by enforcing endpoint
security before granting access to the network. By enforcing these security
requirements and disabling spyware, Corrent's SR110 prevents identity,
password, and data theft on remote endpoints.
Powerful and affordable, the SR110 offers organizations distinct benefits,
including:
Secure Web-based Connectivity
* Provides an integrated Web portal so users can securely access Web
applications, shared files, and email and network applications.
Integrated Endpoint Security
* Enforces endpoint security compliance before granting access to the
network.
* Scans for spyware through the remote user's browser to ensure that
keystroke loggers, malicious processes, and Trojan horses are not
installed on the remote endpoint.
* Stops identity and password theft, and prevents data loss.
* With software license from Check Point, includes a free, one-year
SmartDefense(TM) service subscription that delivers real-time updates
for endpoint security checks.
* Offers users a secure browser option that encrypts all session data
sent to the endpoint and erases it when the user logs off-enabling
secure access even in unmanaged environments such as an Internet kiosk
PC.
* Enforces access policies requiring anti-virus software and/or
installed firewall before a user is granted access. Noncompliant
users are offered links to self-remediation resources.
Integrated Application Security
* Protects the network from malicious attacks with Integrated Stateful
Inspection, Web Intelligence and Application Intelligence
capabilities.
Easy Deployment and Management
* Simplifies installation and management with an intuitive Web-based
administrative interface.
* Comes pre-installed with Check Point Connectra software to protect
against user error.
* Provides 2 Gigabit Ethernet (10/100/1000), and four Fast Ethernet
(10/100) ports.
* Includes a LCD and keypad for local status and control.
"We're committed to partnering with companies that provide customers with
flexible options for deploying our security technology," said Paul Weinstein,
Vice President Business Development, Check Point Software. "Corrent's SR110
is ideal for medium-sized businesses because it provides a robust Web Security
Gateway solution with the convenience and security of a purpose-built
appliance."
