BEACHWOOD, Ohio, April 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Aleris International,
Inc. (NYSE: ARS) announced today that Jimmy Chen has joined the Company's
leadership team as Vice President and General Manager, Asia Pacific. He will
be based in Hong Kong, China and will be responsible for developing and
implementing growth initiatives for all Aleris business segments in the Asia
Pacific region.
"Chen brings to Aleris 25 years of cross-cultural business leadership,
general management, M&A and infrastructure growth experience in commodity,
specialty chemicals and agricultural industries," said Steven J. Demetriou,
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Aleris. "He will be a strong addition
to our global management team."
In his most recent role, Chen served as Vice President and General Manager
of the Asia Pacific region and the Global Static Control business for Noveon,
Inc., a leading global producer of specialty chemicals for consumer and
industrial applications. Prior to joining Noveon, Inc. in 2001, he held
various management positions with Dow Chemical, including Global Business
Director, Display Technologies and Regional General Manager, Dow Agro
Sciences, Asia.
Chen received a bachelor's degree in chemical engineering from the
University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology, U.K. He also
earned a master's degree in management and technological economics from the
University of Stirling, U.K.
