PITTSBURGH, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- This morning at 12:01 am EST the Fort
Pitt Bridge and Tunnel closed to traffic as contractors began the 5-month
rehabilitation project. The bridge and tunnel will reopen no later than
August 31, 2002.
Trumbull Corporation, the prime contractor on the project, has created
alternate routes around the construction zone. More information regarding the
alternate routes can be found at http://www.epenndot.com.
For those motorists without Internet access, a live 24-hour help desk has
been established 1-877-450-4279 for information regarding the project and
alternate routes.
