Former Brazilian Ambassador to Washington Extends Firm's Capacity in Latin
America
WASHINGTON, April 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Stonebridge International LLC, a
global business strategy firm headed by former U.S. National Security Advisor
Samuel R. Berger, today announced that Rubens Barbosa has joined the company
as Senior Director. Until last month, Rubens Barbosa was Brazilian Ambassador
to the United States, appointed by President Fernando Henrique Cardoso and
also later confirmed by President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

government and people of Brazil in the United States, as well as the Brazilian

As a leading diplomat and trade negotiator, Barbosa brings over 30 years
of experience in international trade and investment issues. Prior to becoming
Ambassador to Washington, he represented Brazil at the Court of St. James in
London from 1994-99. Ambassador Barbosa also has held a variety of senior
positions in the Brazilian government, including Secretary for International
Affairs at the Ministry of Finance, Under Secretary General for Regional
Integration Trade and Economic Affairs in the Ministry of Foreign Relations,
and Coordinator of the Brazilian Section of Mercosur, the Southern Cone Common
Market.
