Solucorp Featured in United Press International Article 'Smart Waste' Chemicals Fight Pollution

    WEST NYACK, N.Y., April 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Solucorp Industries
Ltd. (OTC: SLUP), a provider of advanced technology solutions to the
Remediation and Environmental industries worldwide, announced today that it
was featured in a United Press International (UPI) article dated April 2, 2004
by Charles Choi entitled, "Smart waste" chemicals fight pollution. To read
the article in its entirety, visit: http://www.otcfn.com/slup. The article
discusses the significant, potential market for Solucorp's latest technology
process, Integrated Fixation Systems (IFS). IFS can be incorporated into
metal-bearing products, such as bullets and batteries, during manufacturing,
that render the products non-hazardous at the end of the products' life cycle.
The following are excerpts of the UPI article, "New chemical technology
can nip pollution in the bud by neutralizing toxic metals as they leak into
soils and water from waste such as junked batteries, electronics or lamps.
"Instead of just treating pollution already affecting the environment,
we're now preventing contamination from occurring from anything metal or
anything that discharges metals," Noel Spindler, director of technology for
Solucorp Industries in West Nyack, N.Y., told United Press International.
The novel technique could affect "a huge variety of sectors," said
technical consultant Peter Hurley of Blake International in West Yorkshire,
England. "If you look at the battery market alone, there are 600 million
units disposed of each year in the United Kingdom, and billions more in the
world market," Hurley told UPI. There also are about 100,000 tons of lead
pellets lying on the ground or buried in North America just for shooting
skeet, Hurley added, "and the U.S. Army produces something like 800 million
rounds in its plants."
