Evolutionary Technology Is Designed to Enable Breakthrough Data Encryption
Capabilities in the Data Center
SAN JOSE, Calif., April 7, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Brocade(R)
(Nasdaq: BRCD), a leader in data center networking solutions that help
enterprises connect and manage their information, will showcase its new
approach to encrypting data-at-rest at this week's RSA Conference 2008. The
planned data security solution from Brocade is an extension to the
company's innovative Data Center Fabric (DCF) architecture, which addresses
the urgent needs of IT organizations to make their data centers more
efficient, adaptable, and secure. The conference runs from April 7 to 11,
2008 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco, California.
Security is an important function of the Brocade DCF architecture, an
open framework that helps organizations to transform their data center
infrastructures for maximum performance, flexibility, and investment
protection. Brocade is currently developing a high-performance fabric-based
encryption capability as part of its DCF portfolio. This capability is
designed to provide encryption of data-at-rest for both disk and tape
storage, offering open key management so organizations can select from
several leading key management products to centralize management of the
fabric-based encryption solution.
The broad Brocade partnership network of leading data center solution
providers helps ensure that organizations will have the greatest choice of
supportable solutions for their data centers. The flexible approach to open
key management also provides investment protection as organizations benefit
from the ability to encrypt more of their critical corporate information
and more easily achieve their security and corporate governance objectives
-- all while centralizing management without sacrificing performance.
"As regulatory requirements and the cost of exposing sensitive
information continue to rise, organizations must broaden and evolve the
data encryption capabilities across their data centers," said Mario
Blandini, Director of Product Marketing for the Brocade Data Center
Infrastructure Division. "Brocade recognizes that scalability and open key
management are integral components of a solid enterprise-class data
encryption solution, which is why we are developing new approaches to
delivering encryption capabilities for the data center fabric."
Brocade presentations at RSA 2008 will be held in South Hall Booth
#2821, where Brocade will discuss its DCF architecture and fabric-based
encryption of data-at-rest.
