1st Annual BioPartnering Ventures, Napa Valley May 24-25, 1999
NAPA, Calif., April 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Organized by Technology Vision Group
LLC, the 1st Annual BioPartnering Ventures (BPV) will take place at the
Silverado Country Club & Resort in Napa Valley May 24-25, 1999.
BioPartnering Ventures is a special annual retreat and forum to discuss
and see how technology convergence is becoming a reality and providing dynamic
new opportunities for investment.
In an environment where bioscience, electronics, healthcare and IT
leaders, venture capitalists and institutional investors can develop a shared
vision, delegates will be able to participate in discussions with leaders in
the development and financing of cutting edge technology. Then see these
ideas in action at the Demonstrators' Open House, where 30 emerging-growth
companies at the crossroads of biotechnology, healthcare, computer and
telecommunications will show their novel tools and products in the following
key areas:
-- Bioware -- The convergence of "wet biology", computer software/hardware
and healthcare, with immediate applications in diagnostics and drug
discovery.
-- Smart Systems -- The convergence of healthcare, computer
software/hardware and electronics, with applications in diagnostics,
therapeutic delivery and monitoring.
-- Healthcare and the Internet -- The convergence of healthcare computer

Dr. Robert Lee Kilpatrick, a partner at TVG LLC, says that BioPartnering
Ventures will offer something for the mind, body and spirit. "This meeting,"
he states, "has been created to provide a retreat for industry leaders and
investors seeking to better understand the key technology trends that are
shaping the future. For the mind there will be panel discussions with
technology gurus followed by hands on demonstrations, with the opportunity for
cutting-edge companies to meet privately with international investors and for
investors to spend some unhurried time with their peers. For the body, there
will be a golf tournament on the highly regarded Silverado South course on the
afternoon of the second day. And the wines that the Napa, Sonoma and
Alexander Valleys are justly famous for, promise to reward the spirit of
attendees each year they return to this gathering."
In addition to meeting on-site in Napa Valley, delegates will have access
to BPV Online, a password-protected, "virtual conference" on the Internet
where registered companies profile their goals and activities, research
potential partners, make new contacts and schedule private meetings.
This year's BioPartnering Venture conference is hosted by Arthur Andersen,
Silicon Valley Bank, Cooley Godward & ING Baring Furman Selz. It is also
supported by BioCentury Publications, Inc., California Trade & Commerce
