NEWTON, Iowa, April 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Maytag Corporation
(NYSE: MYG) will announce first quarter 2004 sales and earnings on Thursday,
April 22, at approximately 6:00 a.m. CT. The corporation has scheduled a
conference call to discuss its performance with members of the financial
community. During the call, Maytag's CEO Ralph F. Hake and CFO George Moore
will comment on various aspects of the results and answer questions.

The conference call will be at 8:30 a.m. CT on Thursday, April 22.
