DrumQuik(R) PRO minimizes spills and increases safety
ST. PAUL, Minn., April 8, 2008 /PRNewswire/ -- The car wash industry
was introduced today to the DrumQuik(R) PRO chemical dispensing system at
Car Care World Expo. Colder Products Company (Booth #613) designed the
DrumQuik PRO, a quick connect dispensing system that allows users to empty
a container in a "closed" manner, to minimize leaks and spills inherent to
the handling of detergents, sealants and polishes. The DrumQuik PRO is
proven in multiple applications and markets, and is gaining the attention
of the car wash and detailing industry.
According to a hazardous communications report published by the
International Carwash Association and OSHA, "slips and trips are common in
our industry, but preventable." The DrumQuik PRO delivers a closed
chemical-dispensing solution for a safer, cleaner car wash community.
"The DrumQuik PRO was developed to provide chemical manufacturers,
packagers and users with a safe, easy and economic system for managing
fluids -- making it a perfect fit for the car wash industry," said Thomas
Braun, chemical business unit manager, Colder Products Company. "This
system is an inexpensive solution for preventing spills and accidents --
resulting in a positive impact on a company's bottom line and the
environment."
The DrumQuik PRO chemical dispensing system is a low-cost, dip tube
closure for bulk containers and a rugged coupler for end-use dispensing of
chemicals. It has been DOT/UN tested and approved with common drums and
IBC's. The DrumQuik PRO coupler can be connected via standard tubing to any
pumping system. A convenient venting port is included to vent fumes or
recirculate liquid back to the drum.
The drum insert assembly combines a typical bung closure (2-inch
Buttress, 2-inch NPS & BCS 56x4 inch) with an integrated dip tube
(available in a variety of lengths). The coupler is joined to the drum
insert via an easy-to-use locking ring. Connection takes only a few seconds
and an automatic shutoff valve prevents spillage when disconnected.
Gary Clancy, managing director at Container Technology, and an early
adopter of the DrumQuik PRO system says, "Our customers want cleaner, safer
systems. They demand and expect it, and both Container Technology and
Colder make it a top priority. Our customers appreciate that we are working
with Colder to solve their chemical storage, shipping and handling needs."
Container Technology and Colder envision a future industry standard in
which every chemical drum contains a DrumQuik PRO dip tube. "My company's
reputation and credibility depend on the products that we offer and I
wouldn't settle for anything less than a top-quality solution," Clancy
said. "The DrumQuik PRO system enables companies to focus on their core
business -- and put concerns about safety and transport hazards to rest."
