VIENNA, Va., April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- GRC International (NYSE: GRH) has
been awarded a blanket purchase agreement (BPA) by the Defense Supply Service
-- Washington to provide a variety of advanced information systems
development, operation and maintenance work. Under this BPA, GRCI will also
continue its work supporting the Assistant Secretary of the Army's Financial
Management & Comptroller Army Budget Office (ASA(FM&C)). The BPA has no
designated ceiling, however, the company anticipates initial work orders
totaling approximately $6.4 million over the next 12 months.
For FM&C, GRCI will continue development of sophisticated decision-support
software tools and military and civilian manpower cost modeling capabilities
critical to the planning and management of the Army's financial and manpower
resources. The company will employ leading-edge client/server technologies and
secure Web-based Internet applications to provide connectivity between
headquarters staff and field commands.
This integrated information management system that GRCI is developing will
replace a number of stand-alone applications and provide significantly more
efficient and accurate data management capabilities. A comprehensive suite of
new analytical tools with superior forecasting and budgeting capabilities will
allow the Army to more accurately project and manage its $67 billion financial
and manpower resources well into the next century.
GRC International President and CEO Gary Denman said, "This contract helps
us solidify our thrust to establish DoD resource management as one of our core
domains. Continuation of this contract maintains and reinforces our
credentials in this arena and provides the qualifications needed to win
similar work in other military services as well as federal civilian agencies."
