RSA Security to Resell nCipher Security Products to Complement PKI Solutions
RSA(R) CONFERENCE, SAN FRANCISCO, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- nCipher plc,
(LSE: NCH), a leading developer of Internet security products for e-commerce
and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) applications, and RSA Security Inc.
(Nasdaq: RSAS), the most trusted name in e-security(TM), today announced a
sales and marketing agreement to deliver a secure online environment for
customers in a wide variety of industries including healthcare,
telecommunications and financial services. This initiative combines powerful
key management and transaction acceleration capabilities provided by nCipher's
nShield(TM) Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) with the PKI-based security
capabilities and application integration provided by the RSA Keon(R) PKI
software.
According to the agreement, RSA Security will now resell nCipher's nShield
HSM's to provide Application Service Providers (ASPs) and enterprise customers
with the assurance that their digital certificate's private keys are safely
managed within FIPS 140-1 validated hardware to deliver a highly secure e-
commerce environment.
In addition, nCipher has become a member of the RSA Secured(TM) Partner
Program under which the combination of the RSA Keon PKI software and nShield
technology has been tested against rigorous integration requirements to ensure
that it meets the needs of RSA Security's large-scale RSA Keon PKI software
deployments. RSA Security, already a member of nCipher's strategic alliance
nAble partner program, is now also an nAble channel partner.

Enhanced Security - nShield provides advanced protection against key-
finding attacks and other forms of security breaches that can place CA keys at
risk by providing a tamper-resistant hardware environment that supports

security architecture has been independently validated under the FIPS 140-1
Level 3 standard.
Secure Key Management - nShield also enables the creation of robust
security policies that are easy to administer and do not compromise security
