Ingrian i140 Debuts at RSA Conference -- the First "Secured by nCipher"
Branded Appliance
RSA Security Conference
SAN FRANCISCO, April 9 /PRNewswire/ --nCipher(TM) plc (LSE: NCH), a
leading developer of Internet security technology for e-commerce and Public
Key Infrastructure (PKI) applications, today announced a strategic alliance
with Ingrian(TM), a leading provider of content security solutions to
effectively deliver and manage secure Internet transactions, to deliver the
Ingrian i140, the first content security appliance to include security
measures validated to the Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS). This
joint initiative includes an OEM agreement for Ingrian to license nCipher's
advanced security technology, creating a unique line of tamper resistant
solutions that combine sophisticated traffic management capabilities with
enhanced protection for secure content.
The Ingrian i140 (see Ingrian product announcement today) is a standalone
appliance that helps to manage and protect secure content and transactions at
various strategic points in an e-business infrastructure to enhance network
efficiency, improve the user experience and reduce risk. The use of nCipher's
tamper-resistant key protection module and sophisticated key management
capabilities within Ingrian's unique platform results in a content security
solution that is compliant with the FIPS 140-1 security standard, a widely
recognized security benchmark. The combined product provides security
sensitive Web sites with the performance, flexibility and ease of use they
need to build robust and highly scalable systems without compromising
security.
"As the World Wide Web becomes a critical medium for online business, we
have developed a unique approach to security with tailored solutions that
address the challenges of information privacy and the secure management of
distributed networks, together these increase confidence in secure online
services," said Jim Vogt, President and CEO of Ingrian Systems. "The alliance
with nCipher combines our unique content security platform with nCipher's
best-in-class key management technology to create a compelling FIPS compliant
Internet security and traffic management solution for financial institutions,
online brokerages and e-commerce providers."
"It is becoming very clear that a comprehensive approach to building a
secure infrastructure can distinguish one online service from another. This
translates into the more widespread use of e-security technology, beyond
secure Web servers and firewalls, to include content aware networking devices
such as Web switches and content caches." said Alex van Someren, CEO at
nCipher. "We're very excited to be working with Ingrian to create such a
ground breaking product. As the first 'Secured by nCipher' solution, the
Ingrian i140 leads the way by combining performance, security and ease of use
in a standalone package."
Ingrian's i140, using nCipher's embedded security technology will be
demonstrated at the RSA Conference in San Francisco April 10 and 11 in both
the Ingrian and nCipher booths, numbers 233 and 409 respectively. The i140 is
available immediately through Ingrian and its certified resellers. For more
