SAN FRANCISCO, April 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Microsoft Corp. (Nasdaq: MSFT)
today announced at RSA Conference 2001 that three of the top names in computer
security -- Computer Sciences Corp. (CSC), Foundstone Inc. and Guardent Inc.
-- will join with Microsoft to provide security consulting services as part of
the Microsoft Security Services Partner Program. Designed to provide customers
with an online directory of consulting companies with security expertise, the
Microsoft Security Services Partner Program supports a community of technical

quality security information and training from Microsoft as well as support
for managed security services that assist customers in securing their

"We are very pleased to participate in the Security Services Partner
Program with Microsoft," said Jack Trotter, director of strategic planning for
Global Information Security Services at CSC. "As a world-class provider of
information security services, we believe that the synergies and specialized
expertise afforded by this collaboration will greatly benefit Microsoft, CSC
and our respective customers in deploying effective, enduring security
solutions."
"Microsoft and the participating partners share one common goal -- keeping
customers' information safe," said Jason Matusow, program manager for the
Microsoft Security Services Program at Microsoft. "Microsoft offers a great
deal of technology to assist with security, but security features are only as
good as the people who implement them. It is our hope that this program will
ultimately help customers secure their environments by providing access to a
community of companies that are specialized in securing Microsoft
environments."

Foundstone and Guardent Announce Managed Security Services
Both Guardent and Foundstone today announced managed security services
that will assist customers in using Microsoft Windows(R) 2000 and Internet
Security and Acceleration (ISA) Server 2000.
Foundstone will roll out FoundScan Managed Security Services (MSS) for the
Microsoft Windows platform, which will assist customers in assessing the
security of their networks. The subscription-based service provides
year-round, 24x7 intrusion prevention for Windows 2000-based networks. Through
its Active Assessment technology, Foundstone is able to analyze a customer's
environment and then use captured data to discover not only vulnerabilities,
but also complex interrelationships.
"Foundstone is honored that Microsoft has recognized our leadership
capabilities for security assessment and hardening of Windows 2000-based
networks," said George Kurtz, CEO of Foundstone. "The close and continuous
relationship we have with Microsoft as a result of our participation in the
Security Services Partner Program is the key to providing the highest level of
service and the fastest possible response to the security needs of Windows
2000 customers."
Guardent also announced a Managed Security Service for Microsoft ISA
Server 2000. The service helps companies maximize their IT resources by
offering combined firewall and 24x7 intrusion detection capabilities for
organizations running on the Microsoft platform.
"The timely, solid information we get from Microsoft via the Security
Services Partner Program is an important component of our service," said
Dan McCall, executive vice president and co-founder of Guardent. "A benefit of
our relationship with Microsoft is that we are able to offer customers a
cost-effective, 24x7 security service that leverages the extensibility
features of the Microsoft ISA platform."
