    ATLANTA, April 9, 2008 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Americans throw away
an estimated $250 worth of spoiled fruits and vegetables per person each
year(1), even as food prices soar. The introduction of Rubbermaid Produce
Saver(TM) food storage containers will help consumers reduce food waste,
save money and live healthier lives by keeping produce fresh up to 33

Produce Saver exemplifies how Newell Rubbermaid (NYSE: NWL) and its
brands are identifying emerging consumer trends - such as the increasing
consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables, including organic and locally
grown foods - and addressing common household frustrations. Whether it's a
shortage of time to shop and prepare healthy meals or the jump in food
prices, Produce Saver offers consumers a solution.

"People are making healthy choices to eat more fruits and vegetables,
and based on consumer insights we understand consumers' frustration with
having to throw away spoiled produce only days after buying it," said Steve
Pawl, vice president of marketing for Newell Rubbermaid's Foodservice
Products global business unit. "While many Americans are battling the
rising cost of groceries, a considerable amount of the fruits and
vegetables purchased each year in the United States are lost to spoilage.
We've designed Rubbermaid Produce Saver as a simple and affordable solution
to maximize the life of produce while saving households money."

Rubbermaid Produce Saver containers utilize unique features to combat
the two factors that age produce quickly - moisture and lack of oxygen.
Produce Saver is designed with a vented lid that allows the produce to
breathe and a tray that elevates food out of moisture.

Produce Saver containers come in three sizes including 2 cups, 5 cups
and 14 cups, and feature clear bases with green lids and trays. Produce
Saver is microwave, dishwasher and freezer safe. The complete line is
available at mass retailers and grocery stores in April at prices ranging
from $2.99 to $6.99. Sets of four containers are available ranging in price
from $9.97 to $12.99.

Rubbermaid Produce Saver containers also feature the Easy-Find Lid(TM)
design, which allows the lids to attach to the bottom of the containers.
This makes it easy for consumers to store and organize their food storage
containers in kitchen cabinets. With 71 percent of consumers routinely
unable to find a lid to match their container and another 52 percent who
lose the lids completely, Easy-Find Lid containers are simple, affordable
solutions to another challenge consumers face on a daily basis.

Producer Saver containers are the latest in a line of innovative food
storage solutions from Rubbermaid, including Easy-Find Lids; Collapsibles,
containers that fold to 1-inch to save space; and Premier, containers
designed to lock in freshness, resist stains and store neatly.
