NEW PALTZ, N.Y., April 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Classics on the
Mountain Chamber Music Festival offers summer night concerts and the glory
of June at Mohonk Mountain House in New York's Hudson Valley June 20-24.
Varied evening concerts include Tchaikovsky, Mozart, Schumann, Grieg,
Brahms, Paganini, Bartok, Handel, and US premiere of Igor Raykhelson's
"Small Symphony for Strings."
Legendary cellist Natalia Gutman, world-renowned violist Yuri Bashmet,
composer/pianist Igor Raykhelson perform in residence with full chamber
orchestra: the Moscow Soloists, violinist Sviatoslav Moroz, soprano Olga
Dyachkovskaya and jazz saxophone virtuoso Igor Butman.

"Classics on the Mountain provides music from the world's finest
concert halls in an intimate setting with spectacular Hudson Valley views,"
said Festival Director Sherri Brittain.
Guests can stay for the full Festival or one night, or come for one
magical dinner/concert evening.
"Yuri Bashmet's artistry inspires many composers to write for him,
myself included," said Artistic Director Raykhelson whose "Adagio for Viola
and String Orchestra" premiered to critical acclaim at Carnegie Hall in
2003.
"Natalia Gutman thrills audiences as soloist with the world's finest
orchestras," said Raykhelson. "We're so fortunate to have her in
residence."
Saturday night's gala concert features Igor Butman in Raykhelson's
stunning "Jazz Suite" which had its US premiere at Jazz at Lincoln Center
with Bashmet and the Moscow Soloists in February. Guests mingle with
artists at a reception following the concert.

Gutman's chamber music partners include Martha Argerich and Sviatoslav
Richter. She works with distinguished conductors including Riccardo Muti,
Claudio Abbado, Mstislav Rostropovich and Kurt Masur.
Bashmet has appeared with Berlin and London Philharmonics, Boston and
Chicago Symphonies, Gidon Kremer and the Borodin Quartet. The Vienna
Philharmonic featured him at Mozart's 250th Birthday Celebration in
January.
Butman performed and/or recorded with Wynton Marsalis, Dave Brubeck,
Chick Corea, Jack DeJohnette, Randy Brecker, Pat Metheny, Grover Washington
Jr. and Lionel Hampton.
